Matthew J Wood has over 16 years of financial experience, 12 years of which have been focused on the liquidation industry. Prior to joining Hilco Merchant Resources, he held several positions within the public accounting industry. Over the last 12 years, Wood has developed best practices for maximizing the return on retail assets across a wide range of inventory categories in both distressed and healthy retail environments.

Matthew is responsible for managing personnel, infrastructure, training, reconciliations and client relationships as they relate to HMR transactions. He also collaborates with Hilco’s senior executive leadership and others to define and recalibrate operating strategies for retail inventory liquidations and identifies data needs from HMR clients that are used to facilitate the day-to-day operations of each transaction.

Matthew oversees all field functions as they relate to financial reporting and compliance to ensure transaction integrity. In addition to his interactions with internal HMR professionals and clients, he also interfaces with senior level retail executives, financial professionals, lawyers, turnaround and restructuring experts, private equity firms, banks and other constituents involved in retail inventory dispositions.

Matthew is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a BA in Finance.
