Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) named Hilco Merchant Resources to assist with the disposition of discontinued inventory associated with Disney Stores and the Disney.com e-commerce website.  In order to achieve optimal results for Disney and, at the same time, ensure protection of the company's brand and goodwill, HMR used a temporary store strategy for the disposition event.  Temporary store locations were opened in Lancaster and Norco California and a sale event was conducted without the need for more traditional inventory liquidation signage and advertising techniques.
